A Brief Introduction to Suicide Prevention.
Talk Saves Lives by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, is an education program that provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives.
In this training, facilitators cover the latest data on suicide in the U.S. and worldwide and information from research on what causes people to consider suicide. Talk Saves Lives also covers health, historical, and environmental factors that put individuals at risk, the protective factors that lower suicide risk, and strategies for managing mental health and being proactive about self-care. Participants will receive guidance on warning signs and behaviors to look for, and how to get help for someone in a suicidal crisis. There will also be an opportunity for Q and A. This training will be held in-person.
Suicide prevention is for everyone. We can all learn to save lives through this training.
Talk Saves Lives is for adults, parents, co-workers, friends, neighbors and anyone age 16 and up. It is FREE to attend.
